Just a couple of weeks ago we were busy preparing for the 2nd International Case Management Conference of BABICM, CMSUK and VRA: Together. This was our first time as an exhibitor at such an event, so we we're a little nervous! Myself, Jayne, and associate Glyn got as prepared as we could and arrived right and early on Thursday 11th May to set up our stand. We took with us a selection of equipment that helped demonstrate the types of service we can deliver and that visitors to our stand could have a play with!
Thank you very much to those of you who came to see us and road tested some of the equipment and talked to us about our services. I believe there was an overall winner of the fastest sit -stand test (a measure of lower limb strength and speed) - this was James Murrells from Quote, whilst others tried their hand (Literally) at the Minnesota dexterity test or Purdue peg test. We also ran a prize draw to win one of our Designed2Move Back packs (every one of our client's gets one of these to store their home exercises equipment in) with a swiss ball, and Designed2Move notebook. I can announce that the winner is Helene Boonin, of Independence Works and based in Leeds. Well Done Helene, your prize is on its way to you!!
In terms of the educational component of the conference there was lots to hear, and just for starters we attended sessions on Work & Health in Scotland, Mental Health in England, The Rehab Code, Rehabilitation in a Trauma Network, Managing Common Health problem sin the workplace, International case management, case management fees, impact of sleep on recovery and rehabilitation and the economic benefits of early intervention functional restoration programmes (what we do!) . There was a huge amount of great opportunities to learn and we extend our thanks to the organising committee who did a fab job.
Over the coming weeks we will pick up a few of the themes in the conference to give you a bit more of a take on how they impact our work with complex rehabilitation clients.
For now, just a couple of headlines:
You can still book onto our free WEBINAR on 21st June at 12:30pm with D2M Associate Glyn Smyth on Assessing Functional Fitness for Work here.
We will be adding another free WEBINAR on "Functional Restoration Programmes in the UK" very soon - date to be confirmed
Make sure to remember it is important to take breaks from sitting down, so get up and get moving, go for a walk, have a dance or do some yoga whatever takes your fancy!
Lastly, remember, if you'd like to discuss a client with us you can either fill out the form on the 'Contact us' page or click the "Request a call back" box on the right and we will be very happy to discuss your client's needs without obligation.
